Lance and Chuck, two inexperienced adventurers, face their first adversary in combat. Later, after teaming up with Montgomery, an annoying Cloudling, they join the Adventurers' Guild and embark on their very first quest.

Lance, Chuck and Montgomery get more trouble than they bargain for when they agree to help Ivan the Dwarf rid his mansion of Grave-beetles.

With Montgomery in a coma, Lance and Chuck head out to do some exploring. They run into trouble in an old ruin, make a new acquaintance, and face mystery in a moonlit graveyard.

Chapter 3: Monty goes berserk

Montgomery awakes from his coma and rejoins the party, but something is amiss. While investigating some highly suspicious goings-on, he goes off the deep end.

Chapter 4: A journey to the East

Her suspicions aroused by what Lance and Chuck have told her, Magenta forms a party of elite adventurers to find out what is going on in the East. Lance, Chuck and Planckton tag along.

Chapter 5: The unseen enemy

Our heroes find themselves in the middle of the mad machinations of a renegade ex-necromancer with his sights set on world domination and/or destruction.

Chapter 6: Theater of travesty

Lured into a trap by a familiar figure with a score to settle, Lance, Chuck and Planckton must run a murderous - and awkward - gauntlet.

Chapter 7: The Assassin's plot

X-iCe witnesses the theft of a mysterious artifact from a high security installation in Regency City. This turns out to be part of a megalomaniacal scheme that could endanger countless lives. Help arrives in the form of an unexpected ally.

Chapter 8: The opening of the rift

Efforts to prevent disaster come to a head in the depths of the Assassins' Guild's hideout. Thorax finds himself face to face with an old nemesis.

Chapter 9

Chapter 9: Trans-dimensional travels
Starts with: WaW #112

Hurled into a world quite different from their own, Lance, Chuck, Planckton and X-iCe encounter one of its leviathan denizens and are given some puzzling information. The journey home proves adventurous.

Chapter 10

Chapter 10: Intrigue and ignominy
Starts with: WaW #123

The gang goes to Angina's Camp for the Gifted to gain a better understanding and mastery of their new abilities. Progress is made by everyone except Lance - but then disaster strikes!

Chapter 11

Chapter 11: Kataki approaches
Starts with: WaW #137

With the help of Nimbus-9, Lance finally discovers and explores his special ability. Nimbus-9 also makes another discovery - one slightly more sinister in its implications.

Chapter 12

Chapter 12: Kataki rises
Starts with: WaW #148

Lance, X-iCe, Chuck and Planckton search for the cause of the disturbance. Their quest leads them through several insidious traps and lands them in the baleful physical presence of an ancient evil.

Chapter 13

Chapter 13: Kataki strikes

It's a race against time for Lance and X-iCe; forced to leave Chuck and Planckton behind, they must delve deeper into the enemy's base to stop the impending destruction of the world.


Epilogue: New beginnings

The dust settles after the Kataki calamity, but change is in the air.
